I don't want to be a burden on my family

Nobody wants to be a burden on their family. Many of us avoid planning for later life because we’re afraid of asking our loved ones for help.

But going without an Aging & End of Life Plan just puts your family in a more stressful position. Why? Because it means they’re at risk of having to:

  • Make life-or-death medical decisions on your behalf if you’re seriously ill or injured.
  • Pay for expensive PSW care as you get older—or set aside the time and energy to care for you themselves.
  • Argue over the contents of your Estate because your Will was unclear, outdated, or nonexistent.

Aging & End of Life don’t have to be this way. We need to start making plans for how we’ll navigate it and bring the family into the discussion, so they are prepared.

If you’re afraid of putting the onus on your family to take care of you as you age, creating an Aging & End of Life Plan is the best thing you can do.

By working with a Legacy Coordinator, you’ll ensure that:

  • You know what you want your later life to look like, and that you’re taking the right steps to get there.
  • You’re prepared for every possible scenario, so your family isn’t left making last-minute decisions on your behalf.
  • Your family knows what to expect and how they can best support you, alongside the rest of your Planning team (e.g. financial professionals, lawyers, etc.).

It’s a privilege to live a long and healthy life. By planning ahead for it and making key decisions in advance, the only thing you’ll have left to do is enjoy every moment of it.
